HASTINGS
Hastings is a community located within the municipality of Trent Hills in Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada. Nestled along the Trent-Severn Waterway and the Trans Canada Trail, Hastings is part of what is known as Ontario's "cottage country." It is one of three communities within the Municipality of Trent Hills, contributing approximately 1,300 residents to the total population of around 13,000.
Due to its central location, Hastings provides the comforts of country living while offering easy access to several large urban centers.
The community is particularly known for fishing; in June 2012, it was named the Ultimate Fishing Town in Canada. Additionally, Hastings is home to Ontario's only bridge where fishing is allowed. Beneath this bridge lies a spectacular spawning bed, where visitors can watch pickerel and perch navigate the waters in early spring.
